One Monday a month, a space dedicated to those who love books and conversation: BookMonday, Eldodo Libreria’s new reading club, is here.
A regular event, every third Monday of the month, to meet among the pages of stories that move, inspire reflection, and create connections between readers.
First reading: Le streghe di Manningtree
To inaugurate our journey we have chosen a novel that, with its atmosphere suspended between history and mystery, is perfectly intertwined with the autumn period and the proximity of Halloween:
Le streghe di Manningtree of A.K. Blakemore.
It’s England, 1643. Civil war is engulfing the country, and fear is creeping into small communities. In Manningtree, a group of independent and marginalized women are accused of witchcraft. Between superstition and power, faith and suspicion, a powerful tale unfolds that illuminates the fate of those who refuse to bow to the rules of the times.
A novel that is not just a story of witches, but a reflection on the freedom, fragility, and strength of women.
How to participate
BookMonday is free to attend: to attend, simply purchase a copy of the book from Eldodo Libreria.
If you already have your copy, please purchase another book of equal value (this will help us keep the bookstore afloat).
Reading is often a solitary activity, but in a book club it becomes a shared experience.
We discuss the plot, characters, themes, the author’s style… and everyone brings their own point of view.
