I Invite You

Invite You…

This book contains over a hundred invitations—encouragements to take action, roll up one’s sleeves, get to work, and avoid passivity.

The invitations range from the literal to the metaphorical and the absurd, and each is accompanied by a photograph of an artwork… The goal is to convey a way of seeing and questioning the world.

Part manual, part monograph, part manifesto, it is a recipe book for food for the mind. Anyone—except galleries and art dealers—can use these suggestions. “I Invite You…” draws inspiration from Enzo Mari’s *Autoprogettazione?*—not only in content but also in graphic design and spiral binding. It is an invitation to design, imagine, and reinvent artworks, starting from a prompt provided by the author and using a series of suggestions as a springboard to discover new ways of seeing, exploring, and creating.

Each book contains an original work by Daniel Eatock: a signed and numbered felt-tip pen print.

DANIEL EATOCK

He works on the connections between image and language, titles, jokes, communication breakdowns, subversions, open systems, contributions from others, seriality, sets, discoveries, and ideas. He focuses on conceptual objects that resolve in a reductive, logical, and objective manner, and is particularly interested in the connection between the start and end points of a freehand-drawn circle.
