Drawing The Sun – Munari

Drawing The Sun.

Bruno Munari in Drawing the Sun, collects some of his drawings of the sun that look like they were made by children.

Along with lithographs, paintings, drawings, in an overview that aims to tell what the sun is, in the infinite ways it can be seen and interpreted.

The book is part of the Workshop series, which collects books that interpret operations through different modalities: from a teaching path, to explanatory handouts, to a poetic game.

The idea is to make adults and children, teachers and students, work together.

BRUNO MUNARI

Together with the spatial Lucio Fontana, Bruno Munari established himself on the Milanese scene of the 1950s-60s.

These were the years of the economic boom in which the figure of the artist-visual operator was born, who became a business consultant and actively contributed to Italy’s postwar industrial renaissance.

Munari’s publishing output spans seventy years, from 1929 to 1998, and includes books, advertising brochures for various industries, covers and illustrations.

In all of his works, a strong experimental impulse is present, pushing him to explore unusual and innovative forms starting with the layout.

From Unreadable Books without Text to his extensive output as an author in addition to numerous covers and illustrations for books by Rodari and Orengo.
