Lamali Shibori Notebook, is a notebook handmade in India with industrial paper, applying the ancient Japanese Shiibori technique on the cover and using only natural pigments: the blues of Indigo, the yellows of Turmeric, and the reds of Madder.
Lamali is not only a product but above all a sustainability project; the now dilapidated production factory was completely renovated by a group of European entrepreneurs, as was the machinery. Employees and their families rehired under a social contract that provides for 8-hour maximum workdays, adequate wages, a ban on child labor and funded schooling up to college for employees’ children, and much more.
LAMALI products have received ISO 9001:2000 certifications (which ensures that products are consistently in line with what customers require and with current regulations).
